Guatemala Flor de Coban

Guatemala Flor de Coban

For those of you who have never been to Guatemala or especially the Coban region, Cobán has only two seasons: the rainy season and the rainier season. The annual rainfall is the second highest of the coffee growing regions in Guatemala, with the heaviest rains from May to December. The mountains are continuously covered with misty clouds making it not only a beautiful place to watch a coffee harvest or rummage through the rainforest but also a very fertile environment for growing coffee.

Our Flor de Coban comes to you from one of the highest lots from the farm and because so it is unlike some Coban coffees. It is very sweet with a delicate balanced acidity. We use it not only as a blend in our espressos but also as a wonderful filter coffee or chemex or vac pot. It is a very balanced cup with medium to high body depending on how its prepared and has strong notes of milk chocolate, caramel and red apple. The aftertaste is sweet and lingering and will keep you happy for a long time.

We know that Coban is a lesser-developed coffee growing region in Guatemala, but after tasting this coffee we wonder why, this coffee truly shined on our cupping tables with a score of 83.5. We hope you enjoy!
