Ms. Olga Marina González Cuadra has owned the La Picona farm since 1999. When she bought it, it had not been cultivated and she decided to produce coffee.
In the beginning the coffee was sold to local buyers. The producing area is 17.25 acres, six of them are producing and the other 4 will produce in 2010. The remaining property is a Protected Mountainous Area. La Picona participated in the Cup of Excellence Program and won the first place in 2005 and 17th place in 2006 and we are happy to offer you their most recent crop that won 4th place in the 2009 Cup of Excellence.
The Caudra family has been involved in the entire production process. They believe that their success is a blessing from the environment, the altitude, good fertilizing practices (organic and coffee pulp combined with some chemical formulas), good coffee picking practices, the soil quality and the great efforts of their workers to obtain the best fruits.
We at La Boheme are very happy to bring this coffee to you, it is highly recommended and we hope you enjoy it!
